This is one of several Union Pacific railroad crossings along a route that is several miles south of my home that I've painted numerous times over the last fifteen years.  Railroads have always been a favorite subject of mine mostly because of the fond memories of my childhood with trains and all of the related stuff about them.  This is a particularly busy route and the passing trains with their wheels clacking across the rails measure out the time spent painting on location.  It's also been a good way to connect with the neighboring farmers as we wait for a train to pass.  I never get tired of the rush I feel as a train approaches and passes by.
